A man, a bucket, a sugar maple, and snowshoes leaning against the tree — a quiet scene from the Quebec winter, carved entirely by hand.

An original hand-carved folk art wall plaque by Robert Jean of Quebec, signed "R. Jean." The scene: a man carrying a large bucket toward a maple tree, a smaller bucket already hanging on the trunk, oversized snowshoes resting against the bark — the full ritual of maple syrup season rendered in three-dimensional wood relief. Robert Jean operated "Artisanat Robert Jean Inc." in Quebec from the early 1990s until around 2017. Quebec accounts for roughly 71% of the world's maple syrup supply — it makes sense that a Quebec artist would pay tribute to the tradition. 17 inches tall, excellent condition, no issues.

In a cabin, a country kitchen, a Vermont farmhouse, or any space where handmade things and cold-weather charm belong. A perfect gift for a maple syrup enthusiast, a Quebec connection, or a collector of Canadian folk art.
