Cristal de Flandre was registered as a trademark in 1983 by Verrerie Cristallerie d'Arques, J.G. Durand & Cie, the Durand family glassworks that began as a small workshop in Arques, France in 1825. The Durand company was a pioneer of affordable lead crystal stemware, introducing Cristal d'Arques in 1968 with automated production. Salzburg was made from 1995 to 2006, and it is now a discontinued pattern.
