This Italian artisan ceramic wall plaque depicts a bunch of carrots in that exact shade of orange — the shade of a freshly pulled carrot on a sunny October morning — and it absolutely stops you in your tracks.

  • Maker: Italian artisan (unmarked/unnamed maker; embossed "Made in Italy Hand Painted")
  • Materials: Ceramic/clay, hand-painted, high-gloss glaze
  • Dimensions: 10.75" long × 7.0" wide at widest point
  • Origin: Italy
  • Era: Vintage, 1980s–1990s (estimated)
  • Condition: Excellent vintage condition — no chips, cracks, or defects. Small surface variations are characteristic of hand-made production. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

This plaque depicts five carrots gathered together with their bright green tops still attached, rendered in high-relief ceramic with a high-shine glaze that makes them look almost edible. The embossing on the back reads "Made in Italy Hand Painted," and the original sticker confirms it was hand made and hand painted by Italian artisans. Pre-drilled holes in the back for hanging. One available.

Works beautifully in a farmhouse kitchen, a cottagecore dining room, a garden room, a bistro-style breakfast nook, or anywhere that welcomes a little Italian artisan character and a lot of color — a wonderful hostess gift, housewarming gift, or treat for any cook who takes their kitchen decor as seriously as their cooking.

High-relief ceramic wall plaques like this one were a popular Italian export throughout the late 20th century, prized for their glossy, almost trompe-l'œil realism — the kind of piece that makes people look twice to confirm it isn't actually a real vegetable hanging on the wall.
