A silverplate tray of this scale — 15 inches, etched all over with flower baskets, cascading swirls, and clustered blooms along the rim — has a particular kind of presence on a table. It doesn't just hold things; it frames them.

  • Maker: International Silver Company (ISC)
  • Pattern: Camille
  • Materials: Silverplate
  • Dimensions: 15" diameter
  • Origin: USA
  • Era: Vintage, c. 1971

The Camille pattern is a study in Victorian-influenced ornamentation: etched floral baskets, scrollwork, and small groupings of flowers repeated around the scalloped rim. Originally intended as a serving or bread tray for the table.

At this generous 15" size, it's equally at home anchoring a bar cart, serving coffee or dessert, holding perfumes and crystal on a vanity, or hung on a wall as a decorative statement.

International Silver Company was founded in Connecticut in 1898 as a merger of several established American silversmithing firms, and went on to become one of the dominant names in American silverplate through most of the 20th century — Camille is a good example of the ornate, Victorian-influenced patterns that built that reputation.
