Vivid orange on aged paper — this is one of the rarest seed packets in the Antigo Trunk collection, and one of the most visually striking.

The Danvers Half Long Carrot packet from the Card Seed Company of Fredonia, New York is a genuine antique: the company opened in 1908 and was gone by the 1920s, making these packets both scarce and historically specific. Printed by the Genesee Valley Lithographic Company — one of the earliest printers of American seed packets, later known as Hammer Packaging — this example was found unfilled in a barn in upstate New York, where it had been stored since the day it was printed. The vivid color and tight provenance make it a collector's piece.

An extraordinary find for seed packet collectors, American ephemera enthusiasts, and anyone who loves the intersection of folk art and agricultural history. Frame it, gift it, or let it anchor a seasonal botanical vignette.
