Pink and yellow roses share the center, surrounded by smaller blooms and green leaves, all framed by a wide 22-karat gold filigree border on cream-toned scalloped porcelain. Quban Royal is the kind of pattern that looks like it was made for a special occasion — because it was.
The Royal China Company began in 1934 in Sebring, Ohio, founded by Beatrice Miller — a woman who had to send a male colleague back to the bank to secure the loan she'd already been denied, simply because she was a woman in manufacturing. By 1965, despite those early obstacles, Royal China had become the largest dinnerware producer in the United States. Quban Royal dates to the 1940s and shows the company at their most aspirational: 22-karat gold, delicate florals, and no visible crazing even decades on. Additional pieces in this pattern are available in the shop.
Beautiful for Easter, Mother's Day, or any table that calls for a little ceremony. A lovely gift for the Royal China collector or anyone who loves a classically American floral.
