While the gravy boat is a more modern, utilitarian vessel built for the motion of pouring, the classical French saucière is an anchor of stationary elegance. It sits gracefully upon the table — a footed basin fused to its own protective tray — designed to be courted with a silver ladle. This saucière form, no handle, two pour spouts, is one of the most elegant serving vessels at the table, and this one is especially beautiful: fine translucent bone china in pattern N1427, ornate in decoration, understated in form.

  • Maker: Noritake
  • Pattern: N1427, Pink & Red Roses
  • Material: Bone China
  • Dimensions: Bowl 7½" long × 5" wide; underplate 9½" long × 6¼" wide; 2¾" tall overall
  • Origin: Japan
  • Era: 1933–1946 (RC Royal Crockery mark)
  • Condition: Excellent vintage. No cracks, chips, or scratches. Two minor factory imperfections: a flower decal on the interior that isn't perfectly applied, and a faint line where pattern is missing on the underplate — neither noticeable at the table. Gold in very good condition. Not new; please review all photos carefully, as all sales are final.

The RC backstamp tells a specific story: Royal Crockery was a Noritake brand created for the India and Southeast Asian markets, registered in 1933 and used through approximately 1946. We carry matching dinnerware place settings and serving pieces in this pattern.

A romantic and historically specific piece for a Noritake collector or anyone building out the N1427 pattern.
