This tray commands a table — Poole's Old English pattern #5017 features a thick, heavily ornate floral scroll rim and an etched scroll-and-floral center that catches the light from every angle.

  • Maker: Poole Silver Company
  • Pattern: Old English #5017
  • Materials: Silverplate (EPCA)
  • Dimensions: 12" diameter overall; 9" center (accommodates a 9" pie)
  • Origin: Taunton, Massachusetts, USA
  • Era: Vintage, 1947–1971 (likely 1960s)
  • Condition: Excellent — minor surface scratches in center consistent with age and use; no chips or dents. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Large, heavy, and deeply decorative, this tray works equally well as a serving tray, a pie server, or a casserole base. Stamped EPCA (Electro Plated on a copper-alloy base). The exact date is difficult to pin down, as Poole used no standard dating system, but it most likely dates from the 1960s, though it could be considerably older.

Beautiful for serving pie, cake, or a casserole at a holiday table, displaying fruit or pastries on a buffet, or standing alone as a decorative centerpiece on a sideboard.

Poole Silver Company was established in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1893 and produced a wide range of silverplate and sterling wares for nearly eight decades. When Towle acquired the company in 1971, they continued the Old English pattern in flatware only — making this holloware piece a genuine find.
