W.R. Midwinter produced pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire — the heart of the English Potteries — from the late 19th century through the mid-20th. The Madalyn pattern belongs to their inter-war period: a warm, traditional floral that sat comfortably on English tables through decades of change. The earthenware body gives these plates a solidity and warmth that fine china can't quite replicate.
