The best bars have stories on their walls. This one's been waiting decades to tell its.

This is an original American whiskey bottle label — a 1930s gilded chromolithograph for Maywood Club Straight Rye Whiskey, 100 proof, bottled by The American Liquor Company of Boston, Massachusetts. It has never been used. Never wrapped a bottle. It is New Old Stock in excellent mint condition.

The label is a scene from a vanished American club life. Golfers work their way across a course in the distance; other men sit on horseback watching — the whole composition rendered in the careful, multi-layered chromolithography that made bottle labels of this era small works of art. Gold gilding catches the light throughout. Maywood Club. The name evokes a private club on a summer afternoon, a round of golf, a rye poured well. The American Liquor Company knew exactly what they were selling and to whom. Two available.

Frame it for a bar, a golf room, a study, or any space that honors the gentlemen's leisure of the 1930s. At approximately 4.0 by 3.0 inches it suits a small standard frame. A natural companion to the Airport Whiskey label (U138), also from The American Liquor Company, Boston — the two together tell the story of one distiller's entire brand vision.

A wonderful gift for a golfer, a whiskey enthusiast, a vintage sports decor collector, a bar decor collector, or anyone who appreciates the intersection of sport, spirits, and 1930s American graphic design.
