A wide band of 22-karat gold scrolls and flowers frames a center of pink roses, blue florals, and a delicate blue ribbon — the Lyric pattern is American ambition at its most decorative.
Limoges USA, not to be confused with the French makers of the same name, produced fine porcelain in Sebring, Ohio from 1900 until filing for bankruptcy in 1955. Their Lyric pattern, with its richly gilded border and soft floral center, dates to the 1930s–1946 window and represents the company at their most aspirational. The scalloped ceramic (not smooth) and 22-karat backstamp — worn off with age on these two bowls, though the pattern is confirmed — speak to that era's love of ornament. Some crazing on the underside and minor chips on the back; no visible cracks or scratches on the faces.
A thoughtful gift for a Limoges USA collector or the lover of American-made gilded china. Pairs beautifully with blue, pink, or cream table linens.
