Milk glass body with a quarter-inch clear glass edge — the Silver Crest pattern by Fenton in Double Crimped form, here in a graceful trumpet shape six and a quarter inches tall with a five-inch ruffled opening. This piece pre-dates 1970, confirmed by the absence of the Fenton signature mark that began appearing around that time, and by its provenance. Any flower, faux or real, looks wonderful in this vase. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Note: dark marks visible on the edge in photos are from the background, not damage — we photographed against white so you can see the clear glass clearly.

Fenton Art Glass Company was founded in 1905 by Frank L. Fenton and his brother John W. Fenton in Martins Ferry, Ohio, moving to Williamstown, West Virginia in 1907. They introduced Carnival glass in late 1907, produced practical wares through the Depression and WWII, and grew into the largest manufacturer of handmade colored glass in the United States. Silver Crest was introduced in 1942 and remained in production until 1986. Fenton closed its glass factory in 2011; Mosser Glass purchased the molds.
