Multi-petal flowers, ornate scrolls, stippled grounds — the Sandwich pattern is one of the most beloved in American pressed glass, and Anchor Hocking's version is among the finest.

The Sandwich pattern was made by several major glass houses — Anchor Hocking, Duncan & Miller, Indiana Glass, and Westmoreland among them — each with slight variations that give collectors something to study and compare. Anchor Hocking produced their version from 1939 to 1964, and this oval bowl is a particularly clean example: the multi-petal flower and ornate scroll motif with stippled (tiny raised dot) fill between is crisp and detailed.
