Backstage Pass, Mick Jagger, L.A.S.H. Tour Japan, Andy Warhol Design, All Access, NOS, 1988

In 1988, Mick Jagger was at a crossroads. The Rolling Stones were on uncertain ground, and Jagger was testing a solo career. He took his show to Japan — the first time any member of the Stones had ever toured there — for eight sold-out shows in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. The tickets sold out in hours.
This is an original All Access backstage pass from that tour. New Old Stock, never used, in pristine condition. Made by Perri, laminated, and suitable for framing.
The design is one of ten screen prints originally created by Andy Warhol in 1975 — a portfolio issued across different pass tiers: VIPs, All Access, technical crew, and others. The border and back are foil-metallic with white text reading "L.A.S.H '88." Look closely at the bottom left and you'll find Jagger's signature; on the right, Warhol's.
The tour promoted Jagger's second solo album, Primitive Cool (1987). By Tokyo he was playing over 22 Rolling Stones songs to just six solo tracks — a man telling you exactly where his heart was. In a late 1988 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, reconciliation with the Stones was clearly on his mind. We all know how that turned out.
His backup band for the tour was no afterthought: guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Doug Wimbish, drummer Simon Phillips, guitarist Jimmy Ripp, and background singers Bernard Fowler and Carol Kenyon.
The pass was acquired from a friend of Toni Perri, the original collection owner, who has since passed away. These are exceptionally rare.
