Cream ceramic, an unusual and pleasing shape, a blue floral motif with pink companion flowers and green leaves on both sides, 24K gold rims at the top, bottom, and base. Stamped on the bottom: "Hand Made in Greece, 24KT Gold, Spyropoulos." Eight inches tall and generously wide — substantial enough to hold a small bouquet and beautiful enough to stand alone. There is some wear on the gold and some crazing, both consistent with age and use and photographed for your review.
Spyropoulos is among the most respected names in Greek pottery — a factory known for fine quality handmade ceramics that blended traditional craft with 24K gold decoration. Pieces bearing this mark are among the most collectible examples of mid-20th century Greek decorative ceramics.
