A quietly elegant piece for a minimalist shelf or console, and a gift any lover of understated, well-designed objects would appreciate.
Crafted by Thai artisans in the 1980s, this piece carries echoes of Mid-Century Modern design even as it stays distinctly Asian Modern in spirit. It's stamped on the bottom "designed by Jaliang," from Jaliang Ceramics, part of Thailand's celebrated pottery industry and winner of the 1999 Prime Minister's Award for original design. The original company appears to have closed, though a related business, JaliangPlus, carries the name forward today.
