Soft purple flowers on both sides, a gently ruffled border, a gold rim, and the graceful silhouette of a piece that knows exactly what it is. Stamped on the bottom: "Hand Made in Galway, Royal Tara Fine Bone China, Ireland." Six and a half inches tall, bone china — the highest quality ceramic, translucent and durable in equal measure. There is a tiny black mark near the foot, photographed for your review; otherwise the piece is in very good condition.

Royal Tara began manufacturing fine bone china in Galway, Ireland in 1953. Family-run for nearly fifty years, they maintained a strong emphasis on handcrafted, original pieces — plates, cups, teapots, vases, trinket boxes, and more — many of which became sought-after collectibles. The company closed in 2000, making these pieces genuinely finite. Their designs continue through Clara Ceramics and Islandcraft, but no longer made in Ireland.
