This is real solid brass, not plated. The veining is exceptional, with lots of intricate detail on both the large leaf and the smaller leaf. It has three small feet on the bottom and retains its original label reading simply "Made in India." We love the patina of old vintage brass — it adds character and authenticity, and we didn't attempt to polish this piece.
An excellent decor piece and genuinely useful — not only in the office, but as a soap dish, to hold keys, or to corral other small items.
