A Bavarian porcelain egg that understands exactly what it is — and does it beautifully.
From Gerold Porzellan of Bavaria, West Germany, this egg-shaped trinket box is decorated on the lid with wild roses in dark and light pink, yellow, red, and white, with green and gray leaves. Both top and bottom carry a thick 22-carat gold rim. Stamped on the base: "Gerold-Porzellan, Bavaria, Made in W-Germany," with embossed model number 3061/3. This pattern has been in production since 1949; the use of "West Germany" ended in 1989, placing this piece between those years — most likely the 1970s. Excellent condition, no chips, no scratches.
