Some trays are pretty. This one has presence — a 15-inch round tray in silverplate, its pierced reticulated border and rope-edged rim framing an etched Spring Flower center that catches light the way only old silver can.

Made under the International Silver Company's eagle / Wm. Rogers ★ mark, Pattern #172 was produced sometime between 1938 and when ISC discontinued it in 1976. The warm patina developed over the decades is, in our view, part of its beauty — polish to a high shine if preferred, or leave as-is for a moody, collected look.
Display on a sideboard, use as a punch bowl underplate, hang as wall art, or style as a seasonal centerpiece.
Wm. Rogers was one of several silversmithing names absorbed into the International Silver Company, which stamped Rogers-branded pieces with its eagle-and-star mark throughout much of the 20th century. Pattern #172 reflects the delicate, reticulated style that made Rogers silverplate a fixture of formal American entertaining for generations.
