Some trays are pretty. This one has presence — a 15-inch round of silverplated elegance, its pierced reticulated border and rope-edged rim framing an etched Spring Flower center that catches light the way only old silver can.
Made by William Rogers under the International Silver Company mark (eagle / Wm. Rogers ★), Pattern #172 was produced from 1938 until ISC discontinued it in 1976 — making this a quietly historic piece of American silversmithing. The warm patina it has developed over the decades is, in our opinion, part of its beauty. Polish it to a high shine if you prefer, or leave it as-is for that moody, collected look beloved by interior designers.
Display it on a sideboard, use it as a punch bowl underplate, hang it as wall art, or style it as a seasonal centerpiece. Gifted in a box with tissue, it makes a memorable housewarming or hostess gift.
