Leonard Silver Manufacturing Company was founded by Leonard Florence in Chelsea, Massachusetts.  Leonard learned to work with silver while employed at Raimond Silver Manufacturing Co.  In 1968 Raimond Silver was sold and Leonard acquired some of the sales profits.  He then opened his own company, "Leonard Silver", in 1969.   He operated a very successful business specializing in low cost silver plated items.  To keep his costs low, many of the items were manufactured in Spain, Italy and India.  They were eventually bought out by Towle Silversmiths in 1979.
