Magnolia blooms and holly leaves and berries intertwine in a garland winding all the way around the tray's border. A wonderful anti-slip crackled texture. The piece still carries its original sticker confirming the "Magnolia" pattern name, and is signed S. W. Liu (Shao Wei Liu) as part of the design.
A lovely serving tray for holiday entertaining, or a striking piece of Christmas decor on its own.
Shao Wei Liu is an artist born in Hangzhou, China, who came to the United States in 1982 and earned BFA and MFA degrees in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. Her work has appeared in books, newspapers, magazines, and greeting cards, and she continues to work as a freelance illustrator for children's books, as well as a designer and teacher.
