This Poole Silver Co. tray carries the Chippendale name in a deeply fluted, pie-crust rim — a serving tray substantial enough to double as a punch bowl base.

  • Maker: Poole Silver Company
  • Materials: Silverplate (EPCA)
  • Dimensions: 16.25" diameter
  • Origin: Taunton, MA, USA
  • Era: Vintage, 1950s (pattern produced 1950s–1960s)
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition — minor surface scratches in center consistent with age and use; no dents. This is a very heavy tray, please keep this in mind at checkout. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Stamped EPCA — Electro Plated on a Copper Alloy base — and marked with pattern number 1043, Poole's heavy hollowware designation used through the mid-to-late 20th century. The thick, wavy pie-crust rim is the pattern's signature detail, giving the tray enough presence to work as a serving tray, a punch bowl base, or simply a decorative display piece.

A substantial gift for anyone who entertains often, or a striking piece on its own as a tabletop display.

Poole Silver Company was founded in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1893, producing both silverplate and sterling silver wares through the 20th century. The company never adopted a standard dating system for its markings, so pinning an exact manufacture year is difficult — but pattern #1043 is generally traced to the 1950s into the 1960s, placing this tray within that window.
