A yellow-and-red pair of Tiny Tonka construction trucks, a cement mixer and a dump truck, in pressed steel built to last. Small enough for a shelf, sturdy enough that the working parts still move exactly as they should.

  • Maker: Tonka
  • Materials: Pressed steel, plastic windshield (mixer)
  • Dimensions: Cement Mixer: 5 inches Long, 1 3/4 inches Wide, 2 7/8 inches Tall. Dump Truck: 5 inches Long, 1 3/4 inches Wide, 2 1/4 inches Tall.
  • Origin: USA
  • Era: Vintage 1970s
  • Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. The cement mixer has age appropriate paint chipping, and the dump truck is slightly better with less chipping. All "axles" are showing rust. The tires need cleaning to really shine. Scratches on the windshields are visible but no cracks or chips. Both retain the Tonka labels in very good condition, on all four doors. Overall, they are both in very good vintage condition, considering these were meant for rough child's play. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

The cement mixer has a yellow cab and red drum, with Tonka decals on both doors that carry tiny "Mound, Minn." lettering. All six wheels are present and rotate smoothly, the clear plastic windshield is present, the drum tilts by hand without any trouble. The dump truck reverses the scheme with a red cab and a yellow bed. Its Tonka decals are intact on both doors, its windshield wraps around to the side windows, and the tipper bed tilts manually. Both cabs are embossed 55010 underneath. Sold together as a pair.

A natural gift for the Tonka fan who remembers these from the sandbox, or a pair for anyone building a vintage construction display.  Great set for a collector.

Tonka began as a toy maker in 1947 from Mound Metalcraft, a Minnesota company that had started out making garden tools, and it took the Tonka Toys name officially in 1955. The company built its reputation on heavy pressed steel trucks designed to survive real play. The Tiny Tonka line arrived in 1968 with nine child's hand-sized vehicles, among them both a cement mixer and a dump truck, which makes these two a natural pairing from the start.
