A robin's egg blue enamel teapot from Yugoslavia, its lid attached by a little chain so it can never go missing. Pure country farmhouse charm for display.
- Maker: EMO Celje
- Materials: Enamel on metal
- Dimensions: 5" tall (not including handle) x 5.5" diameter (widest point, base)
- Origin: Yugoslavia (now Slovenia)
- Era: Vintage 1940s-1950s
- Condition: Good; over 70 years old, with dark spots on the bottom, handle and lid rim, rust on the underside of the lid and a lot of wear to the white enamel inside. We noticed no dents, and the handle does not stay up on its own. Best for display or decor only. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.
The bottom is marked with the EMO-FRITE logo, Made in Yugoslavia and the number 14. This piece is for those who love the primitive, rusty, crusty vintage look rather than perfection, and it makes a wonderful statement in a vintage country kitchen or as part of a collection.
A charming gift for a tea lover who appreciates farmhouse style.
EMO of Celje, in what is now Slovenia, traces its roots to an enamelware factory founded in 1894 by Adolf Westen. The company began producing frit and enamel in the late 1920s, and it eventually used that knowledge to make enamel for other companies as well, and today supplies frits and enamels worldwide.
