"The Star of the Road" — a woman driving a horse-drawn carriage, from an 1849 Currier & Ives lithograph — printed in pink on white ceramic with the classic swirled border. The handle carries the rarer added scroll design. Cup only, no saucer. We have 3 available — ideal for completing a set or replacing a broken cup.
Royal China Company was founded in 1934 in Sebring, Ohio and went on to become the largest dinnerware maker in the US by 1965. Their Currier & Ives line, introduced in 1949, became their most beloved pattern — produced in pink, blue, green, and brown until 1986. This pink version dates to around 1967. Unmarked, but unmistakably Royal China. Hand wash recommended. Search the site for Currier & Ives to see matching pieces.
A practical and charming find for a collector building out their set. Lovely as a standalone piece or a small, considered gift.
