Every piece has the imperial yellow background with a highly detailed blue dragon spewing a fireball, with slightly different dragons on each side. The teapot carries the same design plus a big red fireball on the spout, and has two filters, one built into the spout and a mesh filter at the top opening. All pieces are bordered in a red weave pattern and marked "Made in China."

A great set for a tea lover, and perfect for anyone who loves chinoiserie.

In China, yellow was long the color of the emperor, and the dragon was the imperial symbol, so a dragon on a yellow ground carries a sense of royalty. The dragon with a fiery pearl or fireball is a classic motif in Chinese art, and chinoiserie collectors in the West have prized pieces in this tradition for generations.
