Vintage: 1940 - 1954
Details: This is a very old and very pretty canister. It has a hand painted floral design and a lusterware finish. It is marked Gold Castle, a brand from Tashiro Shoten (pre WWII - 1954), Japan. It is also marked "Chikusa", this mark is sometimes associated with Gold Castle, indicating a specific pattern or design within the Gold Castle line. A very pretty addition to your chinoiserie or lusterware collection. There are condition issues, please see below.
Condition: Vintage - Used. Good Vintage Condition. There are three chips, one on the top border and the other two on the inside lip. There is wear/ discoloration consistent with age.
