One pink rose, one white rose, blue and yellow companions — and bone china so fine and translucent it seems almost too delicate to hold sugar, yet has done so beautifully for over sixty years.
Spencer Stevenson & Co introduced the Royal Stuart trade name in 1951 and ceased manufacturing in 1960, making every piece from this house a genuinely brief window of production. This open sugar bowl — unnamed pattern, unfound in catalogs — carries the hallmarks of the house: luminously thin bone china, a rose-centered floral composition with smaller blooms in blue, yellow, and pink, and the quiet confidence of Stoke-on-Trent craftsmanship at its mid-century best. At just 2" tall and 3.25" across, it's a small piece with outsized presence.
Useful far beyond the sugar bowl's original purpose — equally lovely for dips, jams, or sauces at the table, or on a nightstand for rings and small jewelry, or on a desk for paperclips. A rare and refined gift for the English bone china collector or anyone who loves a piece with a precise, short history.
