Midwest of Cannon Falls was founded in 1952 by Ken Althoff, a former Lutheran pastor. After a multiple sclerosis diagnosis forced him to leave the ministry, Ken began importing religious and holiday items to sell at his gift store, running the business out of his own basement. What started as a small import operation selling German brass crosses grew into an internationally renowned name in gift, home décor, and holiday ornaments.
