A rare find — and rarer still in this condition.
These ovenproof soup crocks from the California USA Pottery era carry the quiet authority of mid-century American craft: clean white ceramic, rounded "button" knob lids, and sturdy dual ear handles, all marked "Calif USA 857 Ovenproof" on the base. Built for the table and the oven both, they're ideal for French onion soup, bisque, thick stews, or individual pot pies and casseroles. The form is timeless enough to move effortlessly from a cozy weeknight supper to a beautifully set dinner table.
A wonderful gift for a California pottery collector or anyone who loves functional vintage ceramics with genuine character. We also carry a similar set of 4 in the same mold number, with a linear knob lid and spoon-notch cutout — browse our shop to compare.
