- Condition: Vintage - NOS. Very Good Vintage Condition. This is a Christmas Carols songbook, becoming very hard to find, especially in this condition. This wonderful old song book was an advertising / promotional item, given away by Rochester Savings Bank, NY (1831 - 1983), to advertise their Christmas Savings Club accounts. Contains 10 classic Christmas carols. There are no tears, no folded pages, no writing, very light staple rust, looks like it was never used, NOS still maintains vibrant colors, really great condition. These vintage Christmas songbooks were promotional items given by banks, stores and many other businesses, typical of the mid-20th century, circa 1950s and 1960s. Rochester Savings Bank opened in 1831 in Rochester NY. They are remembered for their contribution to beautiful architecture in public spaces. Their ornate building, constructed in 1927, was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its historical significance in art, architecture, and commerce. They were the first in the country to offer a Payroll Savings and School Savings accounts. In 1932 the bank merged with two other local banks to form "Rock Island Bank and Trust Company", Rochester Savings Bank merged with Community Savings Bank in 1983. The new entity was named Rochester Community Savings Bank, eventually the Rochester Savings name ceased to exist.
