John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance of Boston — one of America's great insurance institutions — gave these modest little songbooks as holiday gifts throughout the early 1970s. Published by Christmas Club a Corporation of New York, each contains 14 classic Christmas carols. Available in two editions: 1971, with three boys on the cover, and 1975, with two boys and a girl. The 1975 editions are in especially fine condition — near flawless NOS. The 1971 shows a bit more character: light cover wear, one faint stain on the front, a small defect on the back.
A sweet gift for the holiday collector, the ephemera enthusiast, or anyone who simply loves a small, well-made piece of Christmas past.
