Sometimes a piece refuses to be ignored — and this one, with its fleur-de-lis silhouette, built-in handles, and embossed leaves outlined in gold, has a quiet authority that makes attribution almost beside the point.
Unbranded and unattributed, but unmistakably old — the form, the weight, the quality of the embossing, and the gold leaf details all point to 1930s–1940s American production. The leaves are pressed into the ceramic body and then outlined in gold, giving the whole surface a layered, architectural quality. Light wear on the gold accents is consistent with its estimated age. It works beautifully as a serving platter for a fall or harvest table, as a bread or cheese board, or displayed on the wall as an accent piece.
A distinctive gift for the vintage ceramics collector or the home decorator who appreciates an unassuming piece with genuine presence.
