- Pattern: Vintage Serving Platter, Floral with Gold Filigree, Ceramic
- Made in USA
- Vintage: 1930's - 1940's
- Details: This is a very old platter with a pretty floral pattern and a gorgeous gold filigree border. This multi-color floral decal pattern does not have name, it is known as RMH5. This is an extremely hard to find decal pattern, this serving tray is a RARE find. Unfortunately we've not been able to find much information on the Royal Monarch company. Best that we can tell, Royal Monarch purchased blanks (undecorated pottery) from Knowles, Paden City, Homer Laughlin and other pottery manufacturers and they simply decorated the pieces. That is why sometimes you'll see dinnerware with the gold Royal Monarch mark but also other pottery names alongside it, or underneath the Royal Monarch mark. The mark on this platter does not contain another pottery name, it simply reads: "Royal Monarch, First Quality China, Original, Warranted 22Kt Gold". This platter is NOT dishwasher safe, Hand Wash is necessary in order to maintain condition.
- Material: Ceramic
- Dimensions: 11.5 inches Long, 8.5 inches Wide (at its widest point).
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. The decal, as well as the gold filigree border both have slight surface wear, all acceptable, due to age/use/wear. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
Homer Laughlin China Company was started by brothers. Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin in 1871 as Laughlin Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio. Due to rapid growth, in 1903 they opened a second location in Newell, West Virginia, by 1920 all production had been moved to Newell and the Ohio plant was abandoned. Homer Laughlin is best known for producing the very popular "Fiesta" line of dinnerware. The company is still in production and still manufactures all its wears in the USA, actually, in that very same Newell, WV location, it's the home of the "HCL Inc." family of companies that includes Hall China. (The Hall China Company merged with Homer Laughlin China Company in 2010).
