Introduced in 1941 and described as one of the most popular patterns ever made in America, Franciscan's Desert Rose needs little introduction.

This 14" oval platter is original Gladding McBean production, marked "Made in California" and dated 1966 — the Interpace era, before the pattern moved to England and eventually China. It's hand-painted earthenware in the warm off-white that is characteristic of the line, with the familiar embossed pink rose and green leaf motif that made this pattern a multigenerational American classic.
