This oval amber glass platter, made somewhere between the 1860s and 1903 when Atterbury merged into the United States Glass Company, is a layered composition of Victorian pressed glass: a pebbled "thousand eye" base, geometric dashes and dots along the border, embossed daisies on the built-in handles, and a notched rim that gives the whole piece an architectural crispness.
A genuine collector's piece for the EAPG enthusiast, the amber glass devotee, or anyone who appreciates Victorian-era American glass at its most inventive.
