The elegance of Spanish porcelain at a fraction of the Lladro price — with the honesty of full disclosure.
Porcelana Casades operated in Spain from the 1960s through the 1980s, producing hand-painted porcelain figurines in the same elongated style and soft pastel palette — beiges, grays, blues — that made Lladro famous. This tall figure of a young woman with a large goose on her shoulder is a fine example: graceful, delicately colored, beautifully modeled at 12.5 inches tall. There are two repairs — one near her neck, one near the goose — both photographed for you. The goose beak, wings, and the lady's fingers are all intact. There is crazing on the bottom only. Casades pieces never reached the collector status of Lladro, which makes them an excellent and more accessible alternative for lovers of Spanish figurine art.
For a Casades or Spanish porcelain collector, a lover of the Lladro aesthetic, or anyone who wants something beautiful on a shelf and appreciates knowing exactly what they're getting.
