Bakelite and glass — two of the great materials of the American mid-century table.
These compact individual-sized shakers are pressed in a cut diamond pattern and topped with pointed red Bakelite lids, each with a single hole — delicate enough to double as sugar shakers. The base is embossed "Made in USA, Des Pat 120547," confirming the design patent. Small in scale, they're ideally suited to a breakfast tray, a bedside table, or an intimate table setting. One lid shows the beginning of a hairline crack; both tops are on very tight and were not forced open.
A charming collectible for the Bakelite enthusiast or vintage Americana lover, and a genuinely useful little set for the right table.
