Warehouse stock, never used: the gold heraldry and tartan colors are bright and unfaded.

Burnett & Burnett operated as growers, packers, and shippers across two very different corners of California — Salinas, on the cool, fog-fed Central Coast, and El Centro, deep in the hot Imperial Valley desert — allowing them to ship vegetables to market across a longer season than either region could support alone. The "Royal Bruce" name and heraldic crest evoke Robert the Bruce and Scottish clan imagery, a popular decorative theme on produce labels of the era that had little to do with the actual crop inside but gave the brand a distinguished, old-world air on the grocer's shelf.
