• Details:   This metal sign of Richard Petty next to his trusty #43 car and signed by Richard is a great addition of any Petty or NASCAR fan or collector.  Petty is very special to NASCAR fans and the sign is in great condition, New Old Stock, never used.  On the back is marked "OAC Marketing copyright 1995" and has Richard Petty Licensing info.  Sign has pre-drilled holes in each corner for hanging.   A great addition addition to any man-cave, home bar, or rec-room or as a gift for a NASCAR fan.

Richard Lee Petty is a former NASCAR driver who raced in the Strictly Stock/Grand National Era and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.  He won the NASCAR Championship seven times, something only accomplished by two other racers since.  He was born July 2, 1937.  His father, Lee Petty, won the first Daytona 500 in 1959 and was also a three-time NASCAR champion.  Richard Petty  was nicknamed "King Richard", because statistically, he is the most accomplished driver in the history of the sport and is one of the most respected figures in motorsports as a whole and is still very much involved in the NASCAR business.  Richard was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010. Petty's Car #43 became famous in 1959, when Lee placed his son, Richard in the car. Richard made ten starts in 1959, accumulating five top tens, and four top fives. Making him the 1959 Rookie of the Year. Petty returned in 1960, making forty starts, with three wins, sixteen top fives, and thirty top tens. He finished second in NASCAR Grand National Series points, scoring his first career win at Charlotte Fairgrounds Speedway.   In '63, Petty scored fourteen wins, thirty top fives, thirty-nine top tens, and eight poles.  1967 was a monumental year for Richard. He compiled twenty-seven wins out of forty-eight starts, including a record ten wins in a row.  His dominance in this season dubbed him the nickname of, "King Richard."  After many more wins through the years, Richard retired in 1992.
