Soft pink milk glass, feather-etched panels, a beaded border — and a color that ran for only two years, making it one of the harder pieces in the Jeannette line to find.
Jeannette Glass introduced Shell Pink milk glass in 1957, and production ended by 1959 — a window of just two years that makes all Shell Pink pieces relatively scarce today. This Feather pattern divided platter is one of the larger pieces in the line at 16 inches long, with six sections framed by raised feather motifs and a beaded outer border. It is heavy, as all Shell Pink pieces are. Note: there are two lines we believe to be manufacturing defects (not damage) — one on the front, one on the back — neither goes all the way through; there is also a rust stain on the back. All are photographed in detail and priced to reflect the condition. No scratches or chips.
A rare find for Shell Pink collectors or anyone assembling a Jeannette Glass collection. Beautiful displayed on a shelf or sideboard as much as used at the table. A meaningful gift for the serious milk glass collector — particularly one who's been looking for this specific piece.
