Made by America's oldest pottery, with real gold on the rim — and it shows.
This bread-and-butter plate from Harker Pottery's Harkerware line carries "The Old Homestead in Winter" from the Currier & Ives series: a snow-covered farm, a large barn, a farmer and horse at the doorway, a cow nearby, bare trees, and a sleigh visible in the background. Harker Pottery, founded in 1840 in Liverpool, Ohio and later relocated to Chester, West Virginia, was known for rimming their plates in genuine gold — and the ruffled edge here bears it beautifully. It even comes with its original antique plate hanger, which we've left on. Harker closed in 1972; pieces from this era are increasingly collectible.
A charming accent for a farmhouse kitchen, winter decor display, or a gift for the Harker Pottery or Currier & Ives collector.
