The oval rim is intentionally uneven, almost like a broken eggshell edge, which makes it more interesting than a plain round opening. Dated to 1993 by its original sticker; retains both the "Especially For You, FTD, Made in Taiwan" sticker and a small "1993 FTD" label. With no drainage hole, it functions as a cachepot — perfect with stones at the bottom for a potted plant, or used directly as a vase. FTD — Florists' Transworld Delivery — was founded in 1910 when 13 American retail florists agreed to exchange orders telegraphically for out-of-town deliveries. Their gold Mercury Man logo, first used in 1914, depicts Hermes, messenger to Zeus.
