There's a particular magic to finding a matched pair still together — and this set of Sanmyro Alpine children planters, a boy and a girl, has stayed together through decades of collecting. Both retain their original Sanmyro stickers, both are in excellent condition, and both carry that irresistible Hummel-like quality: rosy-cheeked, soft-colored, full of the gentle sweetness that defined mid-century Japanese ceramic imports at their best.
Sanmyro was a brand of Panation Trade Company, active from 1957 to 1992 — these are believed to date to the 1950s–1960s. Pieces like this are genuinely rare to find as a complete pair in this condition. Each stands approximately 4.5 inches tall and works as a standalone planter or purely as a display piece.
