Hull Pottery has been collected for nearly as long as it's been made — and this early piece, predating the company's famous Tokay reissue of the 1950s, is a lovely example of why. A cream-colored ceramic body with a green grape cluster and leafy vines, two urn-style handles adding a quiet Mediterranean warmth, and a simplicity that lets the craftsmanship speak for itself.
Embossed on the base "USA" and mold #5 — an early mark consistent with Hull's novelty pieces of the 1930s and 1940s. This same form was later reissued as the Tokay artware line; a piece marked "Tokay" is the post-1950 version. This one is the original. No drainage hole — best used as a cachepot. Note: a heavy piece at approximately 2 lbs. before packaging. Tiny naturally-occurring holes on the pedestal are a characteristic of the ceramic process on pieces made for the florist trade, not damage.
