There's something irresistible about an anthropomorphic bunny — pink, upright, with a big thumping foot and a teal-wheeled cart to push. A little whimsical, a little glamorous, entirely mid-century. The gold gilding is in wonderful condition, the hand-painted details are crisp, and the palette of soft pink, black, and teal gives it a freshness that still holds up beautifully decades later.
Unmarked, so the maker remains unknown, but the quality and style are consistent with mid-century Japanese ceramic imports of the 1950s–1960s. No drainage hole — a true cachepot or jardinière for indoor use. Some crazing consistent with age, but no chips or scratches.
A delightful Easter or spring accent, a sweet addition to a baby nursery or shower display, or simply a cheerful piece of vintage kitsch for a shelf that could use a little personality.
