Rin Tin Tin — the most famous German Shepherd in television history, on a 1955 promotional pin.

The original Rin Tin Tin was a German Shepherd puppy found on a World War I battlefield in France in 1918 by American soldier Lee Duncan. He became Hollywood's first great animal star, appearing in dozens of Warner Bros. films through the 1920s. The Screen Gems television series — "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin" — ran from 1954 to 1959, and this 1955 promotional pinback was issued to promote it. Original, not a reproduction, in very good vintage condition with expected age wear. At 1⅜ inches diameter, larger than the ¾-inch dog breed pins.
