A Saint Bernard on a ¾-inch button — gentle, noble, and considerably more portable than the real thing.
In the 1940s and 50s, small lithographed tin pinback buttons depicting dog breeds were popular novelty items and collector's pieces — tiny portraits of beloved breeds rendered in vivid color on ¾-inch metal buttons. Original, not reproductions, these are in very good vintage condition with the expected wear of items now 70+ years old. The Saint Bernard — bred as a rescue dog by the hospice of Saint Bernard of Menthon in the Swiss-Italian Alps — is one of the world's most recognizable working breeds. At ¾ inch diameter, please note the small size before purchasing.
For a dog breed pin collector, a Saint Bernard devotee, or anyone who loves a gentle giant in miniature form.
