Buster Brown and his dog Tige — a comic strip character turned one of America's most enduring shoe brands.

Buster Brown was originally a comic strip character created by cartoonist Richard Outcault, running in the New York Herald from 1902 to 1920. Outcault then sold the rights to multiple companies — most famously to the Buster Brown Shoe Company, which turned the round-faced boy and his dog Tige into one of the most successful advertising campaigns in American retail history. The Brownbilt Club was a loyalty program for Buster Brown customers — members earned points and special deals. The front reads "Brownbilt Club, Buster Brown Brownbilt Shoes." The back, difficult to read, appears to read "Brown-bilt shoes for men — for women, Buster Brown shoes for boys — for girls." Circa 1950s based on the logo style. Original, not a reproduction, in very good condition for its age.

For an advertising collectibles collector, a Buster Brown enthusiast, or anyone who grew up lacing up a pair.
